Hwoarang

Introduced in Tekken 3 (1997) and a student of Taekwondo, Hwoarang has become a staple character within the series. He is depicted as a very flamboyant, boastful fighter who tends to find himself in dangerous situations. He has a strong respect for his master Baek Doo San and a strong rivalry with Jin Kazama that has grown even larger since Tekken 3. Hwoarang's playstyle relies heavily on offensive pressure, his array of stances and their options, and situational awareness. Therefore to be effective with and against him, it is crucial to learn what moves come from which stance, what properties they have, and how to use them properly to gain the advantage in the match.

Key Moves

1. One of his best offensive tools that is natural on hit and put him in right flamingo; giving him more options to mixup an opponent.

2. Another good sequence to establish an offensive is his 1,2 into right or left flamingo while still having access to movement options.

3. One of his scariest launcher, this move has two version but the blue sparks version (JFSR: Just Frame Sky Rocket) is the best option, due to the pushback and faster recovery time.

4. Known as "Backlash", this move is Hwoarang's armored homing move, that instantly tailspins on hit providing a combo.

5. A good quick low poke leaving him in RFF/RS that is good for chipping away at an opponent's health and provides a combo on counter hit.

6. Although a short ranged move, it s a good, safe, mid launcher that launches on normal hit at i15.

7. A great 11f punisher that can be cancelled into Left Flamingo Stance, providing options to mixup the opponent.
